Whooooooooa these cookies look BIG!
Wait, what? You made cookies and not a cookietini? Calm down, Karen.
Your cocktail, INSPIRED BY OATMEAL COOKIES, is coming at the end of this post.
Step 1: Gather ingredients: Oats, vanilla, sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, salt, butter, eggs, flour, baking powder, baking soda, raisins chocolate chunks
Before half of you get hostile about the raisins, Martha gave me permission to substitute.
She said I could substitute with other dried fruits, not chocolate, but these are quarantine times and I’m gonna lie to myself and say I trust my judgment. We’ll see!
Step 2: Whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon
EASY.
Step 3: beat butter and both sugars
This doesn’t look like they’re going to be that big.
Step 4: Add eggs, one at a time
Step 5: Add vanilla
I’m still skeptical. It’s barely filling the bowl.
Step 6: Gradually add the flour mixture
Step 7: Add the oats
Step 8: Add the raisins chocolate
Step 9: Scoop into eight 3/4 cup balls
Um, no. There is no 3/4 measuring cup and I am not about to guess. It says it makes 8 cookies, so why not make a loaf and cut it into 8?
Oooooookay…it looks like they are gonna be big. Also, I’m a genius
Hahaha
Step 10: Place 4 per sheet
These are my giant sheets. I used the wide angle lens to get the picture.
Step 11: Press with your palm into 4-inch rounds
Thank you, iPhone for that measurement!
Step 12: Bake until golden brown
Hahahaha okay they are huge. And the chocolate worked out great!
Yields: 8
I got: 8
Start time: 3:24
End time: 4:07 (43 minutes)
Martha’s estimated time: N/A – this book does not have times.

those sound delicious. also raisins do not belong in cookies. you made the right choice. m&m’s would have been good too!
