Oh, hi. Did you forget that I had a cookie blog? So did I. I can’t believe it’s been 4 months since I baked cookies and posted a blog – ew!
Anyway, it’s my favorite time of year. Although these look Christmasy instead of Halloweeny, they’ve got cinnamon and that’s close enough.
I thought these would be an easy way to get back into the groove of baking. I mean, there were only 7 ingredients and one of them was water.
That counter might look different to you. That’s because I moved. I love my new apartment.
Although I love my new apartment, I think my mixer is upset that it gets such a small amount of counter space.
So easy. I was glad I picked this one.
That’s easy…wait, teaspoonfuls? It definitely took me 30 minutes to do all of them.
I didn’t sift my powdered sugar and it was so clumpy. The mini whisk didn’t work, a fork didn’t work, so I ended up using my hands.
This was a huge pain. I had smashed the sugar while mixing with my hands so instead of rolling, it was more like sprinkle and flip/don’t burn your hands.
Not attractive. They look more like sour cream and onion cashews than cookies.
Step 8: After they cool, roll the cookies again.
That’s how I feel about that. I didn’t take a picture.

Yields: 60 (The iPhone version of the app tells me this, so basically I have to toggle. MARTHA!)
I got: 60 (Ugh, let me be honest. 60 filled up 2 cookie sheets and I was DONE. I threw away 3/4 cup of dough.)
Start time: 7:30
End time: 9:45 (2 hours, 15 mins)
Martha’s estimated time: 1 hour, 30 mins
What did I learn?
- Clumpy powdered sugar sucks. Sifting powdered sugar also sucks, so I just need to buy new.
- 84-degree weather in Oregon, in October, plus oven=hot apartment and sad Nate
What do I need to learn?
- How can I remain accountable so I don’t go 4 months without baking again? Open to ideas.
Soundtrack (OMG NEW FEATURE): Jeepers Creepers
It’s October, so we wanted to watch a scary movie. I had never seen it. We followed it with Jeepers Creepers 2, which I thought was better. Poor Justin Long, though.
I brought these to work yesterday and people seemed to like them. Will I make them again? Probably not. If you beg? Maybe.
See you soon! Please share and comment! I need some L-O L-O L-O L-O-V-E.
